Skincare Routine and My Skin Type

Hello Loverlies,
Today I want to talk about something all of us have: Skin and a skin type! My skin has been annoying since about the age of nine. That's when I started getting zits. I didn't really know what zits were, but I got them. It wasn't until the other girls in my grade started getting zits that I had any clue what they were. These zits didn't really bother me until someone pointed them out or told me I had spots on my face. It was only then that I got self-conscious.

In 6th grade my acne got worse. By the time 6th grade rolled around I had started my periods, I really bleach blonde hair becuase of the sun and my shirt that I wore in my school picture made me look unflattering to say the least. I had a whitehead rash, when I say rash I mean my nose and forehead were covered in whiteheads. I was really uncomfortable with my self and how I looked. If I remeber correctly my mom took me to a dermatologist at this point. He gave me some medicine (in pill form and I couldn't/can't swallow pills). I didn't take this medicine unless I opened the capsule pour the powder into a bowl of applesauce and stirred it up.

This lasted on and off for about 3 years. Eventually I stopped taking the medicine all together. My face got worse but not as bad as in 6th grade. I was still upset. Naturally I was picking and popping my zits. Eighth grade came and went will some people still commenting on my face and saying that I should do something or suggesting products to help my face. Every product I used didn't help it made it worse or it burned. I thought I wouldn't find anything that would help. Until one magical day....
One day my mom took me to see a dermatologist/plastic surgeon again to see about a pesty mole on my back. This is a dermatologist that I had seen previously in 5th grade to get a blood pimple on my cheek removed. It was a fairly warm November day, right after thanksgiving we went to the office. He checked out my mole said it wasn't anything to be worried about. He took notice to my face as people do when they speak to you directly and said do you want to clear up your acne? I said sure. I told him(well my mom told him) about my history with acne products and medicine. He said that they sell an acne kit that works for his daughter and her friends.

That kit was called Erase It. It was not cheap. It was 202.85 dollars but its worth every penny. From the first night I used it my skin has felt healthier, lighter, more moisturized and it has cleared up my acne so unbelievable well and fast. Within the first 2 days of using this kit my mom saw a difference in my face. The kit comes with a gel cleanser, a refining gel, a moisturizer and tinted sunscreen. I love my new skin and I hope it keeps improving.

Next weeks post is gonna have something a bit different than what this blog is usually. Thanks and have a lovely week!

Honestly....

Hey Lovelies,
I've been sort of M.I.A recently. I went to Texas and It was spring break a few weeks ago. I've been trying to get one post up for two weeks now and techonolgy has not been my friend. I've been feeling really poopy recently and I have not been up to doing much. So I appericate your patience with the posts and everything. I know we're a small blog but even if no one reads this I feel as though someone out there is listening to what I have to say. I appericate it. As a teenager, I don't feel as though many people(especially adults) listen to what I have to say. So it's nice. I just want to say thanks! I'll include a picture of something for your enjoyment.

New Beauty Buys

Hello lovelies,
It's Britt here. This past weekend I went out and got some new fun stuff.New makeup, a new hair toy, and some new clothes. I'm gonna show them to you! I will have three different parts to this becuase I got so many new things.
I decided to try Maybellines new Whisper Color lipstick. I have to say I was throughly disappointed with this product. It stains your lips and I got the red color and when you put it on your lips it's bright pink not red! I very disappointed with it. I was expecting so much because Maybelline makes general good products.

I recently discovered a new brand of makeup. It's called Flower. Drew Barrymore designed this brand and helped create every product. The line currently has 180 or so products. This brand has everything you could possiblily need. I got the stick foundation and the twist mascara. I have been really impressed by these products. The stick foundation is nice because it provides great coverage and all you have to do is roll it on, blend and go. The Mascara leaves you eye lashes ten times fuller and voluminous than any other brand I've seen. This is probably because you can twist the brush and make it any setting you want. I am looking forward to buying more products of theirs. This brand is sold exclusively at Walmart for right now.

During my excursion to Walmart I picked up an eos lip balm. All my friends had raved about this lip balm and loved the scents. I hadn't tried it since it came out and decided it was time. I was throughly impressed with this lip balm. As soon as you put it on your lips feel ten times better. This lip balm also stays on longer and your lips don't get chapped at easily. I would definitely reccommend this product to anyone, even guys!

This next product isn't really a recent buy, it's over 5 years old. But it's one of those things that you find in the back of your make up drawer and decide to give a retrial. I absoluted hated this product when I first got it. Back then I was in 5th grade and wasn't in to beauty or lip moisturizing. My second eldest sister Elizabeth sold Avon and my mom would buy from her. I was always complaining about my lips being chapped and I never wanted to do anything about it. I just wanted to complain to complain ya know? So anyway my mom got me this: Avon Moisture Therapy Intensive Lip Moisturizer SPF 15. Long name I know. I recently started trying this again. It was love at first... try? I loved how it made my lips feel refreshed and moisturized. This product really works. It's odorless and colorless so it's unisex. I would suggest this to anyone. That is if you can still purchase it.

Lastly, I was in Target the other weekend and no one that I know including me can walk into a Target and not buy anything. Target is one if those places that has something for you no matter who you are. In that trip I found elf cosmetics. My friend,Anna, who was with me at the time raved about their products. So I picked up their foundation brush and conceler. I am in love with this brand so far. Their professional foundation brush made me swoon at first use and their conceler really does cover up the spots I need covering. I am looking forward to purchasing more from this brand. I am expecting great things from elf.

Thanks for reading. If there are any products above you would like me to do a fully review just comment as I will be reading through those.

Disclaimer: This post is not sponsored or indorsed in anyway. I bought these products with my own money and reviewed them for your and my benefit.

Conventional Wisdom

Hello Lovelies,
I would like to talk to you today about Conventional Wisdom. Conventional Wisdom is defined as "something that is generally believed." (referenced from Dictionary.com) Examples of this are: Blondes have more fun, Name brands are the best, All British persons like tea, etc.
In my class called Issues we are talking about conventional wisdom about gangs and drug dealers. Scandalous I know! You're probably sitting there reading this and wondering how our school system can teach a class about Drug dealers and Gangs, well the class isn't just about that. It's about what people think on certain subjects and how Sumo Wrestlers and a School Teacher are the same? We are reading the book called Freakonomics. It's a great book that's challenges the norms of society.
We have all been victim to conventional wisdom, even if you are sitting there saying oh no I haven't. Well you're wrong! Do you wash your hair everyday because someone told you it was the best thing? Do you get LED lights because they are supposedly the best? That's conventional wisdom.
Conventional Wisdom occurs in everyday life. I want to leave you with this thought. What conventional wisdom do you take part in? How can conventional wisdom hinder or help your daily life?
Comment below what these things are and I'll reply and read all of them.

Yuck....Winter Weather

Hello Lovelies,

It's Britt here. How are you this weekend? Valentine's day is done and gone for another year. If you're in school then its almost then second half of the semester. School work to do, maybe a job to keep up with, wanting warm weather to come. With all these things to keep you busy, at the end of the week you just want a break or a vacation. I know I certainly want warm weather to come so I can go outside with my friends again. Until then I will have to make my own vacation and warm weather.  Today's post is gonna be how to get through the rest of the winter weather.

           Tip One:
Make a list or collage of everything you want to do when the warm weather comes. On my list it would be bike ride more, shop for my Europe trip, try new fashion ideas, get new t-shirts to name just a few. Making a collage will be more helpful if you're a more visual person, or if you're if you like crossing things off of a list make a list. If neither work then do something different.

           Tip Two:
Just imagine warm weather and what you're summer or spring will be like. This is the one I use the most. If you imagine something then, in you're world it will be true.

         Tip Three:
Look in your calendar and see what events or plans you've made to look forward to. I know the fact that I get to go to Dallas in April is something I'm certainly looking forward to. Europe is another. If you have nothing to look forward to, make plans with friends or ask your parents if you can plan a trip somewhere. Make something to look forward to.

         Tip Four:
Everyone is coming out with their spring/summer collections. Go on sites or into stores and shop for spring clothes. It will make you feel as though spring is not so far away. Maybe while you're shopping try a new style of clothes or shirts that you haven't tried before. I usually stay away from muscle shirts but this season I think I'll try some, just to change it up a bit. I'm trying to make my wardrobe edgier. Maybe if you are edgy already make it a little softer.

         Tip Five:
Speaking of clothes, do some "spring" closet cleaning. Get some old clothes that don't fit or you don't want anymore out of your closet and make room for the new ones. Make sure the clothes you want to get rid of are okay with your mom or dad (if you still live with them.) I made that mistake once and I will never again.

         Tip Six:
Make a list of all the movies you want to see in the summer or spring. There are some pretty awesome movies coming out. I know this is something I would definitely do. I'm a movie buff so plan to go see some movies. Even if they are the new Monster Inc. Movie or Despicable Me 2.

       Tip Seven:
Similar to tip six. Make a list of all the concerts you want to go to.  One Direction's new tour started today, maybe you want to go see them. Maybe you want to go see Boys to Men and New Kids on The Block perform. Make a list, add and subtract. Good Music is always a pick me up.

      Tip Eight:
Make a summer playlist on your moblie device.  Listen to some old summer songs like Katy Perry's California Girls or some newer summer songs like One Direction's Live While We're Young. [If you haven't noticed I'm a Directioner :)]

      Tip Nine:
Get some new makeup. I know my make up draw consists of browns and pinks and purples. If your make up drawer looks like mine. Maybe go out and try peach colors. Being a bit daring with your make up is a great way to start a new season and a new you.

      Tip Ten:
Get some new accessories. I know everyone tells you not to buy new ones because their are so many in your closet already. Along with your spring cleaning of clothes get rid of some accessories so you can make your closet look and feel the way you want it to. Accessories include purses or handbags. New season always means a new handbag here in my household.

      Tip Eleven: My final tip
New season, new you, new haircut. I know I will get a haircut this spring. hopefully sometime in march. I don't have bangs so I'll get some. Find a hair cut you like and take it your hairdresser. They will know what to do. Sometimes you don't even have to take a picture. Just tell them I want x,y, and z. They can shape it and work with it so it fits your face shape. Also along the same lines. If you don't want to just get a hair cut. You can dye your hair as well. I've already dyed my hair. Started dyeing it last spring. My sister Barbara wants to take her ash blond hair and turn it ginger.  Dyeing your hair can totally change your outlook on life and your personality.

Now that you've read all the tips and tricks. Go on and take the spring and summer by storm. Spring and Summer are not that far away I promise.

Techie Issues Until Further Notice

Hello Everyone,
It's Britt here. How is your weekend? My weekend is nice and busy. I'm sorry we didn't post the weekend before last week or the one before that. It was busy and the plan we had didn't work out as planned.I took pictures of nail polish and I can't figure out how to get the url to turn into the picture. Until I figure out the techie aspect of the blog there will be no post with pictures on it. My friend Emily has offered to help me figure out this. I will see if I can visit her sometime later this weekend. For a while there will be no posts with pictures. I know pictures are an important aspect of a blog. I will get pictures up and running as soon as possible. :) Thanks!
