Yuck....Winter Weather

Hello Lovelies,

It's Britt here. How are you this weekend? Valentine's day is done and gone for another year. If you're in school then its almost then second half of the semester. School work to do, maybe a job to keep up with, wanting warm weather to come. With all these things to keep you busy, at the end of the week you just want a break or a vacation. I know I certainly want warm weather to come so I can go outside with my friends again. Until then I will have to make my own vacation and warm weather.  Today's post is gonna be how to get through the rest of the winter weather.

           Tip One:
Make a list or collage of everything you want to do when the warm weather comes. On my list it would be bike ride more, shop for my Europe trip, try new fashion ideas, get new t-shirts to name just a few. Making a collage will be more helpful if you're a more visual person, or if you're if you like crossing things off of a list make a list. If neither work then do something different.

           Tip Two:
Just imagine warm weather and what you're summer or spring will be like. This is the one I use the most. If you imagine something then, in you're world it will be true.

         Tip Three:
Look in your calendar and see what events or plans you've made to look forward to. I know the fact that I get to go to Dallas in April is something I'm certainly looking forward to. Europe is another. If you have nothing to look forward to, make plans with friends or ask your parents if you can plan a trip somewhere. Make something to look forward to.

         Tip Four:
Everyone is coming out with their spring/summer collections. Go on sites or into stores and shop for spring clothes. It will make you feel as though spring is not so far away. Maybe while you're shopping try a new style of clothes or shirts that you haven't tried before. I usually stay away from muscle shirts but this season I think I'll try some, just to change it up a bit. I'm trying to make my wardrobe edgier. Maybe if you are edgy already make it a little softer.

         Tip Five:
Speaking of clothes, do some "spring" closet cleaning. Get some old clothes that don't fit or you don't want anymore out of your closet and make room for the new ones. Make sure the clothes you want to get rid of are okay with your mom or dad (if you still live with them.) I made that mistake once and I will never again.

         Tip Six:
Make a list of all the movies you want to see in the summer or spring. There are some pretty awesome movies coming out. I know this is something I would definitely do. I'm a movie buff so plan to go see some movies. Even if they are the new Monster Inc. Movie or Despicable Me 2.

       Tip Seven:
Similar to tip six. Make a list of all the concerts you want to go to.  One Direction's new tour started today, maybe you want to go see them. Maybe you want to go see Boys to Men and New Kids on The Block perform. Make a list, add and subtract. Good Music is always a pick me up.

      Tip Eight:
Make a summer playlist on your moblie device.  Listen to some old summer songs like Katy Perry's California Girls or some newer summer songs like One Direction's Live While We're Young. [If you haven't noticed I'm a Directioner :)]

      Tip Nine:
Get some new makeup. I know my make up draw consists of browns and pinks and purples. If your make up drawer looks like mine. Maybe go out and try peach colors. Being a bit daring with your make up is a great way to start a new season and a new you.

      Tip Ten:
Get some new accessories. I know everyone tells you not to buy new ones because their are so many in your closet already. Along with your spring cleaning of clothes get rid of some accessories so you can make your closet look and feel the way you want it to. Accessories include purses or handbags. New season always means a new handbag here in my household.

      Tip Eleven: My final tip
New season, new you, new haircut. I know I will get a haircut this spring. hopefully sometime in march. I don't have bangs so I'll get some. Find a hair cut you like and take it your hairdresser. They will know what to do. Sometimes you don't even have to take a picture. Just tell them I want x,y, and z. They can shape it and work with it so it fits your face shape. Also along the same lines. If you don't want to just get a hair cut. You can dye your hair as well. I've already dyed my hair. Started dyeing it last spring. My sister Barbara wants to take her ash blond hair and turn it ginger.  Dyeing your hair can totally change your outlook on life and your personality.

Now that you've read all the tips and tricks. Go on and take the spring and summer by storm. Spring and Summer are not that far away I promise.

Techie Issues Until Further Notice

Hello Everyone,
It's Britt here. How is your weekend? My weekend is nice and busy. I'm sorry we didn't post the weekend before last week or the one before that. It was busy and the plan we had didn't work out as planned.I took pictures of nail polish and I can't figure out how to get the url to turn into the picture. Until I figure out the techie aspect of the blog there will be no post with pictures on it. My friend Emily has offered to help me figure out this. I will see if I can visit her sometime later this weekend. For a while there will be no posts with pictures. I know pictures are an important aspect of a blog. I will get pictures up and running as soon as possible. :) Thanks!

Tips and Tricks to Surviving your Period

I was talking to my friend last night during the Super Bowl, she was talking about how her period was starting and how a dance was coming up and how she couldn't eat the chocolate she usually craves. Today, I learned that salmon is really good for your period cramps because they lessen them, and I thought this was pretty interesting. So that got me inspired to do a "Tips and Tricks" to survive that awful time of the month.

Tip 1: Comfortable sweats or jeans are your new found best friend. Yoga pants are great because they (for the most part) are black, cute, and they go with pretty much everything. Your jeans shouldn't be too tight, as this can be a nuisance if you get lower belly cramps. Also, wearing an old pair of spandex over your underwear (but under your pants) can help if you tend to bleed through.

Tip 2: Engage in physical activity, light cardio especially. If you're able to. Exercise will make your period shorter. You might want to exercise while taking a pain medicine, to help avoid cramps. However, sports may also make your stomach pains worse, so assess the situation and don't push yourself.

Tip 3: Wear the right panties! There is special underwear called Adira Period Panties, which are both comfortable and leakproof. If you don't have a pair, a pair of black ladies boxers that aren't too tight around the abdomen will work fine.

Tip 4: Take painkillers. The cramps are caused by the egg being released from the uterus. Ibuprofen will most likely help, but different things work for different people. If cramps are an issue, a heating pad might help lessen the pain.

Tip 5: Get your sleep! This will keep your body in balance, you wont feel as bad, and help you feel more relaxed. Stress makes your flow heavier, and well.. That sucks. So, take a hot shower, do some deep breathing, and stay as relaxed and rested as possible.

Tip 6: Keep track of how often your period comes. This will help you prepare for the days of discomfort. Also, you can let your close friends and family know. Personally, I get super moody right before I start, so I let my mom know so she isn't questioning my bipolar behavior.

Tip 7: Don't let cravings go unsatisfied. If you let cravings go unsatisfied then it might make you . When you are eating foods on your period, make sure you eat something that will ease the pain whether that food be salmon or bananas (which are both high in protein.) Or if you crave ice-cream, substitute it with frozen yogurt or something that you wont regret eating later. Sometimes, a nice mocha frappe from Starbucks is all I want. I don't know why, but for me, it eases the cramp pain.

We hope these tips help you, and feel free to ask questions! Below are some comics that made me laugh, so I thought I would share. :) Have a good week, ladies!
